18 Watt - 100or240vAC to 12vDC Power Supply

We produced these units to have an output voltage of 14v DC so that they could be used over some distance.

DC current does not carry over distance quite as well as AC current, significant voltage drop happens through resistance in the wires.
But AC transformers also consume power and it is down to the engineers to say which loses more power, running high voltage DC over a distance or using AC transformers with rectifiers.

Our engineers always recommend using DC if possible so we offer these devices with the following important information:

We highly recommend loading these units to around 15w if using 12vDC devices other than our multiple voltage range LED bulbs.

Some 12vDC devices can't handle voltages over 13vDC and loading them up to 15 W will bring the voltage down to acceptable levels.
For example some of our flux festoon bulbs on the automotive page can't exceed 13.3v.
Standard runs up to 15m using are achievable using
standard 12 V cable
